A History of Nutrition

Conventional wisdom led us to believe that milk gives us strong bones, eggs are the perfect protein, meat, our muscles strong and that plants contain low quality proteins. Conventional wisdom is different from scientific wisdom that scientific wisdom has been carried out without bias to a certain result, a peer-reviewed by other scientists who have strong knowledge of the methodology and statistical analysis. In other words, with the goal of science is to find out what is likely to be true, not what is popular. Unfortunately, the prejudices of large industries in the food business to reach more people than the scientific community. "Prejudice is difficult to eradicate when they are not recognized as such, and even more when they are several times more enhanced in the culture at large" (Diet for a New America, John Robbins). Lets take a trip back into history and follow the few studies that have helped shape the scientific point of view of nutrition and its relationship to disease.
